This cover of People features a black and white photograph of Princess Diana, and the issue is a tribute to her life after she was killed in August 1997 in a car crash. Diana appeared on the cover of the magazine a record 52 times and was one of the most popular People cover subjects. In 1981, she married Prince Charles and arguably became one of the most famous women in the world. She was lauded for her high-profile involvement in AIDS issues and for an international campaign against landmines. Diana's death was greeted with extraordinary public grief, and her funeral at Westminster Abbey drew an estimated three million mourners in London, as well as worldwide television coverage.

This is my favorite cover. This cover is simple, but features such a beautiful photograph of Princess Diana. Princess Diana was someone whom was adored by the world because of her pure warm heart. This cover pays respect to Princess Diana's importance and significance through  leaving Princess Diana as the focus of the cover by having the title of the magazine behindher and not overlaying her.

Magazine Cover Introduction:

5 Things to Think About When Designing Your Cover:

1. Is your image appealing?
2.Does the cover pull in viewers?
3.Is it easy to scan?
4.Is it worth the money and time?
5.What will be the covers brand?

Lytro Warm-Up

1. What did you see happen when you clicked on the photo?
When I clicked on the photos they refocused.

2. How does this new camera work?
This new camera allows you to focus pictures after taking the photos.

3. What do you think a photographer would have to know about to take this kind of photo (remember its a point-and-shoot, so its full manual mode, what do you need to know about)
The photographer needs to know the most effective settings for the components of shutter speed, ISO number, as well as the apeture settings. This will create a successful photograph.

4. Is it worth the money?
I do believe this camera is worth the money because it provides a quick and efficient way to enhance or better photos.

Portraits/Self Portraits

My 3 Favorite tips for Better Self Portraits:

1)Think about your motivation and emotions: Blankly staring at the camera rarely gets good results. Be silly, don’t be afraid to over-act. The worst that can happen is that you fill up your memory card with useless photos; but you might also find yourself with a proper gold-nugget of a self portrait.

2)Use props! Are you a dad and a rocker? Bring your kid and your guitar. Are you a photographer? Add camera gear. Painter? Paint. Poet? Words. Make-up artist? Guess… You get the idea.

3)The most common mistake made by photographers is that they are not physically close enough to their subjects. In some cases this means that the center of interest—the subject—is just a speck, too small to have any impact. Even when it is big enough to be decipherable, it usually carries little meaning. Viewers can sense when a subject is small because it was supposed to be and when it's small because the photographer was too shy to get close.

I like the focalizing of this photo. The image tells a lot about the man in the photo including the notion that he is a musician.

I like the grit of this photo and I also like how the man in the photo co-exists with his surroundings.

I like the reflection demonstrated in this photo.

I like the blending of the subject with her background and at the same time such contrast.

I will be shooting one of my friends. I will be shooting in the hallway. I plan to take a close up photo of their face in order to create a beautiful simplicity.
